It is paramount that all areas where birds and animals are housed, transported and treated are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness & hygiene. This is important for the health of the animal & the people attending them. It is also vital to limit the spread of disease some animals may have or be carrying.
It is important to note "no disinfectant will be fully active in the presence of organic matter, ie dirt, grease, faeces, urine, food, blood, vomit etc." for maximum efficacy clean areas prior to using any disinfectant.
